This just started yesterday after I was blessed with the Windows 10 Anniversary update from Bill Gates the night before.
Now, every time I click on any menu item in the game, it will reconfigure the 3d graphics even if it had just done it without me leaving the game.
In my rend_dxg, I noticed that the line for the 3d renderer has an extension that is a single letter. ".d"
On the next three lines there is a single .d on each followed by a line with .dll
